Beef Jerky

Seriously, a wood frame I bought from Target last year now smells like beef jerky. I bought this frame as part of the Global Bazaar group from Asia. It is brown wood and when I first bought it, it smelled fine. Then, I put it in storage and after about 6 months, I noticed the storage room smelled like beef jerky. It wasn’t until I emptied out the storage that I realized the smell was coming from the frame. The storage room is underground in a temp controlled room and nothing else has the funny smell, only the frame. I have tried using Pledge on it but it did not work. Any ideas why this happened and how I can fix it.
