Back in the late 90’s there was a certain brand of beef jerky that my mother and I absolutely loved called Old Country. I’m not sure if the Amish made it or what because we lived in Ohio when it showed up in the mini-marts.
It just disappeared one day and we never saw that brand again. I’ve even Googled it and haven’t had any luck. If you know anything about this brand please let me know. Thanks!
It was in a clear bag with the Old Country label stuck on it. The jerky was always hard, never squishy. I could tell they used a lot of salt, which was one of the reasons I liked it. The pieces looked like they were cut apart instead of ripped or shredded.

How can you tell if beef jerky is no longer good? We have some in a sealed (vacuum) pack?

This is Amish made beef jerky that has never been opened. It smells great, tastes good - it looks really dry and has some sort of sparkle to it? The only thing really is that it looks dry. There is no mold or anything like that but we are just wanting to find anything to help us figure it out. Please no smart alec answers… we really are trying to figure this out. Thank you to everyone who tries to help!
